BLIK Record - 1 Billion Transactions in Just 8 Months

BLIK - an innovative mobile payment method - continues to evolve, as evidenced by transaction results and a growing number of active users. From January to August 2023, they completed 1 billion transactions, setting a new record. This spectacular achievement underscores the system's growing popularity, dynamic progress, and its impact on the non-cash payment market.

Since its debut over 8 years ago, BLIK has gained the trust and popularity of many, becoming one of the most preferred payment methods in Poland. According to data from the Polish Payment Standard, users of mobile banking applications are increasingly using the system - by the end of June this year, there were already over 14 million users. This year alone, they have already carried out a billion transactions, which means that the total number of operations since the system's launch is 3.8 billion. This year's achievement is an important moment in BLIK's history, demonstrating its established position in the market.

BLIK effectively fulfills its mission of providing a fast and secure payment method that facilitates the daily financial management of many individuals. Users can settle payments online, offline, withdraw and deposit money at ATMs, as well as make transfers through their phones. The system maintains a high pace of development and growth in payment operations. Compared to the previous year, the threshold of one billion transactions has been crossed in a shorter time.

BLIK is a common standard for mobile payments. Currently, virtually every customer of domestic payment institutions offering a mobile application has the option of using BLIK in mobile banking applications. Polish Payment Standard (Polski Standard Płatności, PSP) is responsible for the development of the system. PSP constantly develops BLIK's capabilities so that the system is as functional as possible. The shareholders of PSP are: Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski, and Mastercard.
