Nest Bank and PSP signed an agreement. The bank’s customers will receive BLIK...
Nest Bank has signed an agreement with Polski Standard Płatności regarding participation in the BLIK system. The bank is currently conducting family&friends tests. BLIK payments will be available to Nest Bank’s customers by the end of the third quarter of this year.
Work on the launch of BLIK in Nest Bank is already underway. The solution is currently undergoing internal testing. Therefore BLIK will appear in Nest Bank’s mobile app by the end of Q3 2020. Nest Bank’s customers will be able to pay with BLIK in online transactions (e-commerce), in physical stores (POS), as well as to deposit and withdraw cash from ATMs.
"At Nest Bank, we have been investing in innovative solutions from the beginning. Our priority is to develop secure digital services. That is why we subject every innovation that we launch to restrictive tests. BLIK is both one of the most popular and one of the safest modern payment systems. Our customers will certainly actively use it,"
says Agnieszka Porębska-Kość, Member of the Management Board at Nest Bank
According to mobile banking users, BLIK has rapidly become the most convenient and one of the most popular payment methods in the Internet. It has been used more frequently since the end of 2018 than payment cards; in the first quarter of 2020, 34.7 million card transactions were recorded in the Internet, compared with 57.5 million BLIK transactions. Poles conducted a total of almost 78 million transactions with BLIK in the first quarter of this year, and over 430 million transactions in the 5 years of operation of the system. BLIK can be used not only to conveniently make payments online and in physical stores, but also to withdraw money from an ATM.
"BLIK is becoming not only the most popular payment method among Poles, especially on the Internet, but also a method that is generally available. Nest Bank’s customers will be able to use it very quickly, they will certainly be willing to pay in this way,"
says Adam Kokoszkiewicz, Sales Director at Polski Standard Płatności, operator of BLIK.
Nest Bank has been consistently developing its digital channels and introducing digital services facilitating everyday payments from the very beginning of its operations. Nest Bank was one of the first banks in Poland to enable an account to be opened via a video conversation with a consultant. The bank is currently focusing on providing services that make it easier for customers to do business online – including tools for handling invoices or setting up and running an online store.
BLIK is a nationwide, universal payment standard that uses the latest technologies. 14 banks or banking groups are already making BLIK available. The ability to use BLIK in mobile banking apps is currently available to more than 90% of all customers of domestic financial institutions. Polski Standard Płatności (PSP) is responsible for the development of the system.
