From April to June 2021, BLIK users completed nearly 176 million transactions worth PLN 24 billion. At that time, the number of BLIK’s P2P instant payments was growing the fastest - as many as 25.5 million - an increase of 187% year-on-year. At the end of the second quarter, BLIK was being actively used by nearly 8 million users, which is almost 50 percent more than a year earlier.
Warsaw, 19th July 2021 – BLIK, an account-based mobile payment system built and funded in Poland, introduces a new approach to contactless payments without credit or debit card, providing a solution based on the Mastercard Digital Enablement Services (MDES) technology. Thanks to Mastercard’s tokenization technology, consumers will be able to use contactless BLIK payments via their phone in a secure and convenient way, wherever Mastercard payments are accepted.
In 2020, the Polish Payment Standard (PSP), operator of the BLIK system, broke even during the financial year - for the first time since the company’s inception achieving profit immediately and at a very high level. Year on year, revenues nearly doubled, while operating costs remained almost unchanged. The net profit at the end of the year was PLN 36 million (EUR 7.8 million), compared to a slight loss a year earlier.
WARSAW, 13TH MAY, 2021 - From January to March 2021, Polish mobile payment system BLIK users performed over 153 million transactions worth PLN 20 billion. At the end of the first quarter, as many as 7.6 million people were actively using it. The fastest growing channel is the BLIK phone transfer (P2P). The number of transactions made in global e-commerce is increasing.
In the last quarter of 2020, Polish BLIK users performed 140 million transactions, with over 420 million throughout the year. At the end of the year, 7 million people were actively using the mobile payment system. The total value of transactions in the fourth quarter was nearly PLN 19 billion, while the year closed out with PLN 57 billion. BLIK is available to virtually all mobile banking customers, it can be used not only in the entire Polish e-commerce, but also in a growing number of global platforms. Currently, apart from e-commerce, a rapidly growing feature is transferring money to a phone number, i.e. the ability to transfer money instantly between users.
BLIK presents its results for the second quarter of 2020 In the second quarter of 2020, BLIK users performed 97.4 million transactions, and 175 million in the whole of the first half of the year. At the end of June, BLIK was being actively used by 5.42 million users, which is almost half of everyone who uses mobile banking apps. BLIK is the strongest brand in the payments category, the fastest growing innovation on the payments market, and is also the most frequently recommended payment method.
Nest Bank has signed an agreement with Polski Standard Płatności regarding participation in the BLIK system. The bank is currently conducting family&friends tests. BLIK payments will be available to Nest Bank’s customers by the end of the third quarter of this year.
